International Exchange and Study Opportunities for K-12 Educators

The Fulbright Teacher Exchange Program seeks to improve mutual understanding among teachers, their schools and communities in the U.S. and abroad through two programs – the Fulbright Classroom Teacher Exchange Program and the Distinguished Fulbright Awards in Teaching Program. Through direct exchanges and study opportunities, teachers expand their own knowledge, the knowledge of their students and the larger school community about other cultures and global topics. Teachers also increase the quality of classroom instruction and develop professionally by expanding their approaches to their subjects and bringing these insights into their daily teaching activities.

INTERNATIONAL EXCHANGE FOR CLASSROOM TEACHERS

The Fulbright Classroom Teacher Exchange Program offers educators the opportunity to exchange teaching positions with a teacher from another country for one semester or academic year. By living and working abroad, Fulbright Teachers improve their understanding and appreciation of another culture and education system. With this enhanced awareness, participants expand the global perspectives of students and colleagues in their home and host communities and positively impact the quality of classroom instruction. The program is open to teachers from the United States and selected countries in multiple world regions.

INDEPENDENT STUDY ABROAD FOR TEACHERS
