I recognize now that students cannot really be academically successful until they are socioemotionally healthy, and so I prioritize creating a classroom that feels more like whānau, or family.
TGC was a life-altering experience. The online course, the travel, the cohort—all of it was designed in a way to shift my journey. Not only did I come away with a wealth of knowledge and group of forward-thinking peers, I came away with new self-confidence.
TGC will probably be the best professional development you will ever receive. You will form relationships with your cohort, the program staff, and host country teachers that will last forever. Once you’re in this global family, you’re always working with and supporting each other. We’re constantly striving to create a better understanding of the world for our students.
We celebrate who we are as a community rather than reject our differences.
Exchange programs have made the world a small place in the best possible way.
My students are more empathetic because I’m including global perspectives in everything...We’re seeing changes in the behavior as a result. Rigor has gone up. Students are engaged in problem-based learning, and they are thinking out of the box.
I’ve done some other international trips before, but the trip to Morocco for Fulbright TGC was profound in terms of my teaching. It was so much more than I had expected.
Join a global community of educators and prepare your students for the world.
